Biggest Loser Week 2 Update

Good thing I'm not on the real biggest loser. I would have been booted off for sure. This week, painful and embarrassing as it was, I GAINED 2 POUNDS! Actually, it wasn't painful at all...just embarrassing. Sometimes I really just screw myself over. This weekend I did that for sure. I ate way too much junk this weekend without keeping my head in the game.

So, in the spirit of the Biggest Loser....no more excuses! I got to get this thing in gear and make it happen. One of my Sailors is already somewhere around 15 pounds. I've lost 2. Time to put up or shut up.

Here's to a painfully brutal and honest week. I want big numbers next Tuesday.

On a good note, I am getting my new running shoes by Friday. I can't wait to try them out!

On the show, the trainers will punish contestants by running extra hard miles (not easy ones), lifting more weights more reps, or performing some kind of extra workout or two (yoga, etc.). I expect you'll be doing something similar this week?

Yeah. I really have no choice. Once upon a time I could push myself to do 2 a days without much effort. I'm older now and motivation comes harder I guess. Got to push through.

What would you do if one of sailors failed in such an assignment? Sanctions (positive as negative) are part of the biblical covenant model. What are your sanctions? For an explanation of the five point model, see Sutton's That You May Prosper at Gary North.com. While you are there, down load the free weekly Bible commentary volume. I don't always agree with North, but I agree with his price! Parsimony is my middle, Cliche my maiden,....

You know, that's a really good point. If I had a Sailor who was messing up like that on ,an assignment. I'd start with an informal counseling, which is what I guess the blog is...an informal counseling on myself.

From there we see how much failure still happens.

And don't forget, as part of this counseling, you look for solutions. Sanctions only work if they're part of a solution-oriented mindset. Otherwise, they're just a punishment and achieve nothing. So, sanction yourself for not meeting your goal, but don't stop there. Find a solution to the problem.
